heat energy is being produced in a resistance in a circuit at the rate of 100W .the current of 3A is flowing in the circuit .What must be the value of the resistance.

The value of the resistance will be 11.1 ohms.

 

According, to the power formula the power= (current) ^2*Resistance.

 

Therefore, the resistance= (current) 2 /Power. 


The given power is equal to 100 w and the current is 3A.

 

Therefore, according to the formula resistance is equal to current*2/ Power which is equal to 100/9 (11.1 ohms).
