Heat from the sun heats up the earth,but the atmosphere does not get heated up,why???

when light ray comes in earth ,then some light ray reflect and some observe in earth .
in this way earth be heats.
but in atmosphere can not reflect light and cannot observe it.
in this way atmosphere is not get heats.
