heat is produced when
(i) water is added to concentrated sulphuric acid
(ii)water is added to quicklime however (i)is a physical change and (ii) is a chemical change

when we add water to quick lime then lime water lime stone is formed which is irreversible so it is a chemical change.

addition of water is a chemical change and also an exdothermic reaction i.e it releases high amount of energy

as concentrated sulphuric acid is highly reactive acid and when we add water in a concentrated acid solution then due to addition of water its dilution occur which lead to relase of heat
