➡When a current passes through conductor then the heat start generating in conductor die to its resistance.

The immersion heater , Room heater , electric fuse , Electric bulb , Electric stove , Electric kettles , Electronic cookers etc are all working on the principal of heating effect of electric current.

⇒The practical application of heating effect of current is to convert electric energy in heat energy as we can see in electric iron , heater etc.To produce light in electric bulb ,heater , iron these are the devices  which are based on joules law of heating these devices come with high resistance and hence produce more heat .

Reason-

⇒The heating effect occurs in heating devices when the charge passes through the conductor and it has some kinetic energy when its collide with  atom or ions or conductor it looses it energy and  that energy is  converted into heat energy . again charge gains its kinetic energy in presence of external electric field and this cycle continue again and again.

For example-

⇒In an incandescent electric bulb (bulb with filament) the heating effect of current is used to produce light.
