Decomposition Reaction and Endothermic Reaction.
DECOMPOSITION REACTION: AB → A + B
Example:- (a) 2H2O → 2H2 + O2.
(b) CaCO3 → CaO + CO2↑.
Decompositions are generally the opposite (reverse) of combination reactions, and they usually involve oxidation and reduction (but not in the last example).
In this reaction, heat is supplied to breakup Lime stone (CaCO3) to give by products like CO2 and CaO. So, it means heat is gained to decompose itself to give two or more products. So, this reaction is also called Endothermic Reaction.
