Explanation:

A physical change is the change that does not bring any change in chemical composition of a substance.

For example, heating of sulfur in the absence of air will not bring any chemical change in sulfur. As only state of sulfur might change from solid to liquid or liquid to vapor.

So, basically physical change is occurring.

Whereas a change that brings change in chemical composition of a substance is known as a chemical change.

For example, reaction of sulfur with oxygen will produce sulfur dioxide. Hence, change in composition of sulfur is occurring due to formation of new compound that is, sulfur dioxide.

Thus, we can conclude that heating of sulphur in the absence of air is a physical change.
