Height of wooden square prism is 20cm and the length of base
edge is 10cm.
a) What is the volume?
b)What is the volume of the largest cylinders that can be
carved out from the above square prism?​

length of square prism (l)= 10cm

breadth of square prism(b) = 10cm

height of square prism (h)= 20cm

(a): volume of square prism

= l × b × h

= 10 × 10 × 20

= 2000 cm^3

(b): (see the figures )

r = 5cm

h =20cm

volume of the largest cylinders that can be

carved out from the above square prism

(see fig 1.2 (b)

= πr^2h

= 3.14 × 5 × 5 × 20

= 1570 cm^3
