Heinrich Rudolph Hertz was born on 22 February 1857 in Hamburg, Germany and educated at the University of Berlin. He confirmed J.C. Maxwell's electromagnetic theory by his experiments. He laid the H. R. Hertz foundation for future development of radio, telephone, telegraphand even television. He also discovered thphotoelectric effect which was later ezplained by Albert Einatein. The SI unit of frequency hertz was named in hia honour.

The Heinrich Hertz was known as heinrich Rudolf Hertz he was born on 1857 in Hamburg .

His father was Gustav Ferdinand Hertz.

His mother was Anna Elisabeth Pfefferkorn.

He studied sciences and engineering in the German cities.

While studying at the Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums in Hamburg, Hertz showed an aptitude for sciences as well as languages, learning Arabic and Sanskrit.

In 1880, Hertz obtained his PhD from the University of Berlin.
