Answer:
Helen asked me what he did for a living.
There are two kind of speech.
- Direct Speech
- Indirect Speech
We use Direct Speech when we repeat someone's words
Examples:
- I say, " I am all right."
- He said, " The earth moves."
- He says," I am always busy. "
- She will say," Munia knows everything.
- He said, " Mother works hard.
We use indirect speech when we use our own words to report what someone says.
Examples:
- I say that I am all right.
- He said that the earth moves.
- He says that he is always busy.
- She will say that munia knows everything.
- He said that mother worked hard.
Note:
- The quote starts with the capital letter preceded by a comma.
- The indirect speech contains no quote mark, nor any comma.
- In indirect speech ' told ' may be used for ' said to '; ' told ' takes an object
