Answer:
Hellen Keller has been an inspirational personality since the world came to know of her brave and tragic life story. An author, an political activist and a lecturer Helen was the first deaf-blind person to pursue and complete a Bachelor's Degree in Arts. Her childhood was spoiled by her illness which was an "an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain" that robbed off her eyesight and her ability to hear. She was all alone in the world of darkness.
Helen was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Her inseparable teacher and companion was Anne Sullivan who herself was blind too. Sullivan arrived at Keller's house on March 5, 1887 and that was when a new journey began for the newly impaired Helen Keller. She has crowned this day as "my soul's birthday" as she mentioned in her autobiography, "The Story of My Life"
This great soul died on June 1, 1968, aged 87.
