Miss Sullivan,Helen's famous teacher was herself blind once. However she regained her sight and devoted her life in educating the blind. She remained Helen's teacher and her life long companion. Helen was aware of the fact that she was an inseparable part of her life.
She was an extremely patient and hard workingwoman. She went with Helen everywhere. At every school she spelled into her hands whatever the teachers said. She interpreted everything to her. It was not easy at all. Even at Helen's college she used to sit with her in her classroom and spelled her lectures to her rapidly as possible. As very few books required in various courses were printed for the blind, she had to labour hard. Her hands would never tire.
She was selfless supporter. She rarely went on leave and stood by Helen like a solid rock. When Helen was charged of plagiarism she was the one who investigated the case and told that Helen committed the mistake unknowingly. She always encouraged Helen to go ahead and to achieve her dreams..
