displacement of helicopter is given as

$d_1 = 3km(South)$

$d_2 = 4km(East)$

$d_3 = 2km(Upwards)$

so overall all three displacement is perpendicular to each other

so net displacement will be given by

$d = \sqrt{d_1^2 + d_2^2 + d_3^2}$

$d = \sqrt{3^2 + 4^2 + 2^2}$

now we have net displacement as

$d = \sqrt{29}$
