displacement of helicopter is given as

d_1 = 3km(South)

d_2 = 4km(East)

d_3 = 2km(Upwards)

so overall all three displacement is perpendicular to each other

so net displacement will be given by

d = \sqrt{d_1^2 + d_2^2 + d_3^2}

d = \sqrt{3^2 + 4^2 + 2^2}

now we have net displacement as

d = \sqrt{29}
