The conclusion drawn is that temperature in bottle B is four times as that of A.
Helium gas is filled in two identical bottles, A and B.
Mass of bottle A = 10gm
Mass of bottle B = 40gm
Goven that the velocity of sound is the same in both bottles.
So, Va = Vb = V [ Va and Vb are speed of sound in bottle A and B respectively]
As v ∝ √(T/M) , where T is temperature and M is mass.
As, Va = Vb. So,
√(Ta/Ma) = √(Tb/Mb) [Ta, Ma are temperature and masses of bottle A]
Squaring both sides,
(Ta/Ma) = (Tb/Mb)
Ma = 10gm and Mb = 40gm,
So, Ta/Tb = Ma/Mb = 10/40 = 1/4
Tb = 4Ta.
Temperature in bottle B is four times as that of A.
