Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe .but there are no known compounds of helium because IT IS A NOBLE GAS. noble gases have stable 8 electronic configuration in its valence shell and it is stable electronic configuration. all the elements in the universe except noble gases take part in chemical reactions and form compounds to gain stable electronic configuration like noble gases.

"Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe. However, there is no compound of helium because helium is the 73rd most abundant element on Earth, but it is the second most copious element present in the universe after hydrogen. Both hydrogen and helium make up almost "99.9%" of all elements in the universe.

Since, "Helium" makes up only a small trace of the elements on earth there is no availability of any known compound of helium."
