1} There is actually no history of Mauryan emperors capturing the Tamil rulers during their reign.
Many believed that it was because of a certain unavoidable reasons - some of them being terrain posing as a big challenge, unexplored regions of the deccan, language was a barrier, the fear of elephants, defeat in the kalinga War.
Therefore, it can be historically said that the rulers belonging to the Tamilian state were actually not dependent on the Mauryan authority.
