Here are some interesting facts on Digital India:

1. The government plans to celebrate the first week of July as ‘Digital India Week’ with a mega launch of the project on 1st July. According to various reports, the University Grants Commission (UGC), in a notification dated June 25, has directed all universities and higher education institutes across the country to observe the Digital India Week from July 1-7.

2. The concept of PM Modi’s Digital India is derived from the framework of Gujarat’s famous developmentary program”Vibrant Gujarat”

3. Over 400 veteran CEOs from across the country have been invited for the launch event. Invitaions have been sent to business tycoons like Cyrus Mistry of Tata Group, Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani, Azim Premji of Wipro, Bharti Group, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Gautam Adani of Adani Group, Infosys development coin, Narayana Murthy.

4. For the launch ceremony, around 10,000 people have been invited including veterans in the IT sector, government secretaries and technology and engineeing students will also be present at the event.

5. The program will offer five products including: Digitize India Platform, DigiLocker, National Scholarship Portal, e-Hospital and e-Sign. It will have four portals or apps - Digital India Portal and Mobile App, MyGov Mobile App, Swachh Bharat Mission App and Aadhaar Mobile Update App to help people associate themselves with the government initiatives.
