and spherical aberration whose individual focal length is 8cm and 4cm.​

Explanation:

to minimize the chromatic aberration the distance between two lenses should be the average of their focal length

that is, if the focal lengths are f1, f2

then distance will be (f1 + f2 /2 )

Now,

substitute the given individual focal lengths in the formula => f1 = 8cm ; f2 = 4cm

(f1 + f2 /2) = (8+4 /2)

=> 6cm

Simple... average yedunga...

Ans: 6cm

Let,

f1 = 8Cm

f2 = 4Cm.

To minimize chromatic aberration the distance between two lenses is the average of there focal length. So, here given focal length are f1 and f2.

 So, 

faverage = f1+f2/2

Hence,

= 8 + 4 / 2

= 6Cm.
