Hello mate!

No, We cannot use Sodium Metal for drying alcohol because sodium metal reacts with alcohol and formation of sodium ethoxide takes place along with the release of hydrogen gas.

Answer:

The Answer is NO .

No, we cannot use sodium to dry alcohol because sodium reacts with alcohol to form a salt.

It can displace H+ ions from alcohol but it cannot dehydrate them.

An acid is used to dehydrate alcohol .
