Actually, both the modals implies the same meaning but the difference lies is that "ought to" is used when we are referring to moral values.
For example- We generally say " You should respect your teachers. " But the correct modal is " ought to " as respecting the elders is used for moral values.
Instead the sentence should be -
"You ought to respect your teachers."
