Explanation:

Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other. There are several types of friction: Dry friction is a force that opposes the relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact.

Formula

Friction force

f = \mu N

f = friction force

\mu = coefficient of friction

N = normal force

sorry mate I cant cover the whole chapter here.... but I'll make sure to explain the important topic....

friction :

force between two bodies when they are in relative motion (tendency of motion)

advantages of friction:

●friction allow us to control movements

● it reduces slipping and sliding

●it allow us to grip objects

disadvantages of friction:

●friction causes wear and tear

●it makes things overheat

● it make objects move slowly

reduces with the help of lubricants:

lubricant is a substance that reduces friction between two moving surfaces

streamlining:

giving a shape to body such that they least resistance to air or water. for example, shape of an aeroplane , a ship and a fish.

static friction:

it is the type of friction that exists between the surfaces in contact when there is no relative motion.

dynamic friction:

it is the friction experienced by a body when it is in motion.

sliding friction:

the friction that exists between two surfaces in contact when the body slides on the surfaces is known as the sliding friction.

rolling friction:

the friction that exists between two surfaces when a body rolls on the surface of other is known as rolling friction.

fluid friction:

Fluids also exert friction on bodies moving through it. this friction is called fluid friction for viscous drag. the fluid friction depends on

●shape of the moving body

●velocity of the body

●nature of the fluid
