i have a great solution and easy-to-understand solution for you.......

in the above picture, I think you are unable to understand why 1/20+1/x = 1/12.

see actually when we use "=" sign. Remember, whenever you are putting = (equal to) sign it means both the sides (left hand side and right hand side) of equal to sign should be the same.

here , to the left of equal to sign, we have written the amount of work which Ram and Raju, both of them together performs in 1 day.

to the right of equal to sign, we have written the same thing, I mean, to the right of equal to sign, we have also written the amount of work which Ram and Raju, both of them together performs in 1 day.

since both are same or both are indicating a same fact, i.e., both of them are the amount of work which Ram and Raju, both of them together performs in 1 day, we use an equal to sign in between.

MORE SIMPLE WAY TO UNDERSTAND (BY USING SUBSTITUTION METHOD)

Amount of work completed by Ram and Raju together in 1 day = 1/12.

Amount of work completed by Ram and Raju together in 1 day = 1/20 + 1/x

so, 1/12 = 1/20+1/x (•.• Amount of work completed by Ram and Raju together in 1 day = 1/12, we put its value strictly using substitution method or placing/putting the value system)

You will have no problems in these types of maths problems after watching this........
