Euclid's fifth postulate states that :

For every line, consider l, and that any point, say p that is not lying on l, there always exist a unique line, say s, passing through p and always parallel to l.

In other words, this can be stated as,

Any two distinct intersecting lines cannot be parallel to the same line.

Euclid's fifh postulate is known as the Playfairs axiom, that's because it was given by Jhon Playfair, a Scottish mathematician in 1729.

If a straight line falling on two straight lines then the interior angles made on the same side if it taken together less than two right angles then if two lines are produced indefinitely meet on the side on which the sum of two angles is less than two right angles .
