atomic theory: The general tenets of Dalton's atomic theory were as follows: All matter is composed of extremely small particles called atoms. Atoms of a given element are identical in size, mass, and other properties. Atoms of different elements differ in size, mass, and other properties.
Dalton's Atomic Theory. 1) All matter is made of atoms. Atoms are indivisible and indestructible. 2) Allatoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties. 3) Compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.
