hello friends!!!

A ball of mass 0.50 kg moving at a speed of 5.0m/s collides with another ball of mass 1.0kg .after the collision the balls stick together and remains motionless . what was the velocity of the 1.0kg block before the collision ?

using COLM

0.5×5+1×V=0
2.5+V=0
V= -2.5
- sign indicate that velocity is decreasing

 \bold \green{solution} :-

________________________________

mass of ball m1 = 0.50 kg ,

velocity of ball 5m/s mass of another ball m2 = 1.0kg

Let its velocity is V2

 \star \bold \orange{using \: law \: of \:conservation \: of \: momentum}

m1 v1 = m2V2 0.50 * 5 = 1 * v2 V2 = - 2.5

•°• velocity of second ball is 2.5 m/s opposite to the direction of motion of 1st ball .
