hello friends
A body of mass 2 kg moving with velocity 4 m/s horizontally stops after 2s . if the body is to be kept in motion at the same surface with 4m/s,force needed is:

Hlo mate :-
Solution :-
___________________________________________________________________________
☆ We have,v=u+at
or a=v-u/t
In this question the acceleration provided to the body=(0-4)/2=-2m/s-2
De acceleration=2 m/s-2
The force which provided the de-acceleration,F=ma=2x2=4N
Now this force is to be opposed ,hence a force of 4N is required to keep the body moving with velocity of 4m/s.
Vishal Ajwani answered this
m=4
u=4m/s
v=0
t=2
a=(v-u)/t
=-ve2m/s2
therefore acc.=2m/s2 for uniform velocity,
f=ma,
=2*2
=4N
from my point of view the force reqd. is 4N
