let z students pass in both

45 passed in science and 52 in maths

x+ z= 45...(1)

y + z= 52...(2)

total 80 students

x+ y + z= 80...(3)

So (1)+(2)

x+ y+ 2z = 97

x+y + z+z= 97

80 + z= 97

z= 17

y + z= 52

y= 52 -z= 52-17= 35
