The poor farmers of Bardoli in 1925 suffered due to famine and floods and faced hardships and financial problems. ... It wasin this context that the farmers refused to pay taxes and moreover this 'no tax campaign',led by Patelji, was a child of civil disobedience movement.

No tax compaign ,here ,relates to Bardoli Satyagraha led by Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel. The poor farmers of Bardoli in 1925 suffered due to famine and floods and faced hardships and financial problems.

The situation of farmers was was worsened by British Govt's decision to raise taxes by 30℅.

It was in this context that the farmers refused to pay taxes and moreover this 'no tax campaign',led by Patelji, was a child of civil disobedience movement.
