so in this question..
we have to find AM between a+b and a-b
$(a + b) + (a - b) \div 2 = arithmatic \: mean \\ 2a \div 2 \\ a \\ so \: arithmatic \: mean \: of \: (a + b) \: and \: (a - b) \: = a$
