Hello Friends

IF the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial p(x)=3x^{2}+(2k-1)x-5 are equal in magnitude but opposite in sign then find the value of k.

This is question of class 10

Answer given in the book k=1/2

Please answer fast and no spam or copying from internet as I am new to class 10

here is your answer

Let the root be m,-m (given)
Sum of roots in a quadratic is given by :- -b/a

So m+(-m)= (2k-1)/3
0= 2k-1
k= 1/2
