IF the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial are equal in magnitude but opposite in sign then find the value of k.
This is question of class 10
Answer given in the book k=1/2

Let the root be m,-m (given)
Sum of roots in a quadratic is given by :- -b/a
So m+(-m)= (2k-1)/3
0= 2k-1
k= 1/2
