Answer:

let father's age be = x

let my age be = y

now according to the question -

=> (x-5) + 2y = 65

=> x+2y = 70 -----> (i)

again given -

=> 3x + (y-5) = 130

=> 3x+y = 135 ------> (ii)

multiplying eq (i) by 3 we get -

=> 3x+6y = 210 -----> (iii)

Subtracting eq(ii) from eq(iii) we get -

=> (3x-3x) + (6y-y) = (210-135)

=> 5y = 75

=> y = 15 ----> (iv)

substituting eq(iv) in eq(i) we get -

=> x + (2×15) = 70

=> x + 30 = 70

=> x = 40

Therefore , father's age = 40yrs

My age = 15yrs

Hope it helped :D
