let the number of mango trees be x and the number of chikoo trees be y.
so according to the given condition
x / y = 2 / 3
3x = 2y
so,
x = 2y / 3............1st equation.
x + 5 / y + 5 = 5 / 7.
7x + 35 = 5y + 25.
7x - 5y = -10.
substituting x = 2y / 3 in the second equation we get
7 * 2y / 3 - 5y = -10
14y - 15y = -30
-y = - 30.
thus y = 30 that is number of chikoo trees = 30
now,
x = 2y / 3 = 2*30 / 3 = 60 / 3 = 20.
thus no of mango trees = 20.

Hello friend
......................

=) In example.

The number of mango trees and chicko trees are in ratio 2:3.

Let the common multiple be x.

Hence,

The first number= 2x
The second number = 3x

: By given condition

2x + 5
---------- = 5/7
3x +5

By cross multiplication.

7(2x +5) = 5( 3x + 5)

14x + 35 = 15x + 25

14x - 15x = 35-25

-x = -10.........(multiply by -1)

x = 10

We got the value of x.

Now ,

First number = 2x
= 2*10
=20

Second number = 3x
= 3*10
= 30

Therefore, the number of mango tree is 20 and the number of chicko trees is 30.

... I hope this will helps you.

Thanks.
