Ions is simple matter! we know that an atom is an electrically neutral because it consists the equal number of positive particles and negative particles that is proton and electron. But the ion is s particles or u may say an atom which may consists is may be +'ve charge or _'ve charge. That is an ion forms by the gaining or lossing of _'ve charges particles electron. And if an atom will gain electron mare than the total no of proton in that atom then it well become a negative charged atom that is Anion. And if it losses the electron and the no of electron becomes less then the proton number than it become +'ve charged atom that is cation.
