Undoubtedly, humility is a sign of scholarship. Only people who are highly civilized have this quality. Humility is a great virtue, taught by all great men hailing from all different religious communities. Jesus, Buddha, Yogananda, Lincoln, Bulleshah, etc, all have emphasized the importance of humility in our behavior. The Bible says, ‘Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.' But it is unfortunate that very few number of people practice humility in their demeanor!

Most of the problems humankind is facing, is because of absence of humility. All the wars, conflicts, and alienation can be tackled with humility. All the gaps in relationships can be bridged with humility. Humility actually is giving respect to others that they deserve by default for being humans; by being a unique part of the universal plan! This lesson of humility can best be learnt from the life of Jesus. He forgave his enemies! He prayed for them when he was being nailed on the crucifix. God resurrected him for his humility.

So the modern world needs it very urgently. All must practice humility, especially the elderly and the grown ups to be role models for the youth.  Humility is also a great catalyst for success. Humble people are liked by colleagues and employers. They have the ability to tackle an emergency without causing panic. Humility is a wonderful positive value.

The heart becomes glad to see people practicing it. It is good to see it alive in people, though very rarely. We must practice humility. It is wonderful.
