In a periodic table, as we move from left to right:
1. The metallic character decreases because the atoms more readily accept electrons to fill a valence shell other than just lose them to remove the unfilled shell.
2. The tendency to gain electrons decrease as atomic radius increases due to the increase in number of shells. This makes it easy to loose electron instead of gaining.
3. The valency of an element decreases while moving from left to right. It decreases down to zero and then starts increasing right after the zero.
Hope it helps. Thank you. ☺♥
