Primary data :

It is data that is collected by a researcher from first-hand sources, using methods like surveys, interviews, or experiments. It is collected with the research project in mind, directly from primary sources. The term is used in contrast with the term secondary data.

Secondary data:

It comes from a source other than the researcher. (Primary data, by contrast, is that which the researcher collects for his or her own study.) Examples include government census reports, other governmental databases, and administrative data.
