The kinetic energy needed to project a body from earth's surface to infinity is known as its escape energy.

KE = (GMem)/R which is equal to mgR since gR=(Gme)/R

HimanshuPandeya: make it brialent answer

Answer to your question is

The escape velocity is vg=√2gR

Kinetic energy=1/2*m*vg^2

=1/2*m*2gR

=mgR
