Firstly, don't get confused with it. I'll try to clear out all the concept properly.

The authorised English language in India is \bf {British \: English}. The reason behind this is very clear because India was under the British rule for decades and the British government started its own education system in India so called British English language.

American English came in India after the advent of computer. It is a fact that computer systems support American English. But the curriculum based English language in India is no other it is British English.

So there's a lot of difference between British English and American English. Vocabulary to pronunciation every thing has a sharp edge of difference :

➡ British English is more geared towards the pronunciation. The main difference between both of the languages is silent "r". Where there is vowel before r so r becomes silent but according to American English there's no words with silent "r".

eg. ▪Letter - लैटअ (British)

▪Letter - लैटर (American)

➡ American English makes so many short forms like wanna (want to), gonna (going to), tryna (trying to) and many more. But British English doesn't make such short forms.

➡ British English uses "sa" more and American English uses "za". For instance, Organisation (British) and Organization (American).

In this manner there are a number to differences between both of the languages. The basic ones are given above.
