● The Unruh effect is the fact that an observer who is accelerating doesn't 'see' a vacuum, but a thermal bath of particles with an effective temperature proportional the proper acceleration.
● In other words, the **particle content** of a given state in a quantum field theory depends on the frame of reference, i.e. on the observer - as a consequence of which what one observer sees as vacuum another describes as being riddled with particles.
