Question:-
5 litre of Kerosene oil is found to weigh 4.40kg. Find the density of Kerosene oil in :-
(i) CGS system
(ii) SI unit System.
Answer :-
Density of a matter is defined as the mass of the matter per unit volume of that matter.
Simply, How much mass is present in a unit Volume of the given material is called as Density.
To express Density mathematically, we write:-
The SI unit of Density is kilogram /m³.
But in CGS it will become gram/cm³
Now :-
(i) Density in CGS
Mass = 4.40 kg = 4400 grams
Volume = 5 L=5000ml = 5000cm³
Density will be :-
(ii) Density in SI system
Mass = 4.4 kg
Volume = 5 L = 0.005m³
Density will be :-
Answer:
(a). Density in C.G.S. system
Answer:- p = 0.88 g / cm³
(b). Density in S.I. system
Answer:- p = 880 kg / m³
Explanation:
(a). Density in C.G.S. system
Given,
m = 4.40 kg = 4400 g
V = 5L = 5000 cm³
By using the formula of Density.
p = m / V
Here,
p = Density
m = mass
V = volume
★ Density is directly proportional to the mass of the matter.
★ Density is inversely proportional to the volume of the matter.
Putting the given values in the formula.
=> p = m / V
=> p = 4400 / 5000
=> p = 44 / 50
=> p = 22 / 25
=> p = 0.88 g / cm³
.°. p = 0.88 g / cm³
(b). Density in S.I. system
Given,
m = 4.4 kg
V = 5L = 0.005 m³
By using the formula of Density.
p = m / V
Here,
p = Density
m = mass
V = volume
★ Density is directly proportional to the mass of the matter.
★ Density is inversely proportional to the volume of the matter.
Putting the given values in the formula.
=> p = m / V
=> p = 4.4 × 1000 / 5
=> p = 0.88 × 1000
=> p = 880 kg / m³
.°. p = 880 kg / m³
