13. Abida and Ramesh were doing an experiment in which water was to be
heated in a beaker. Abida kept the beaker near the wick in the yellow part
of the candle flame. Ramesh kept the beaker in the outermost part of the
flame. Whose water will get heated in a shorter time?​

This is because the outermost part of the flame which is blue in colour is the hottest part as here complete combustion takes place . In this zone wax paper gets sufficient oxygen from the air . Due to complete burning no residue is left on the object that comes in contact with this zone. While the yellow part of the candle is not that hot as the outermost part of the candle. Here incomplete combustion takes place.
