It was in the 1960s that RAW was formed. But how does one become part of RAW? Let’s find out.
Step 1: Most of those who are recruited in RAW are chosen from the civil services and armed forces.
Step 2: You cannot apply to a position in RAW, you will be recruited from the armed or civil cervices, so you need to build a strong career. RAW agents can also be selected directly from their universities.
Step 3: If you are selected, then you sit for a National Aptitude Test in Intelligence followed by personality and psychological test as well as interviews.
Step 4: When recruited, you have to resign from your current designation. You will be sent for basic training.
It is a 10-day introduction that takes place in Delhi. During this course, you will be learn the basic terms for intelligence, classified intelligence and other basics regarding the job.
Step 5: After completing basic training, you will be sent to a Field Intelligence Bureau.
The training period here is between 1 to 2 years. You will be taught how to handle real life situations.
You are then given training in self-defence, setting up networks, facing interrogation and successful execution of intelligence missions.
Step 6: Once you have successfully completed training, you are qualified to start your appointed mission.
Candidates can join their previous jobs after they finish their mission at RAW.
