Let the present age of P be 3x yrs and the present age of Q be 4x yrs.

Now, by the given condition,
4x = 20
=> x = 5

So the present age of P is ( 3 × 5 ) = 15 yrs and that of Q is ( 4 × 5 ) = 20 yrs.

Age of P and Q after 5 years will be 20 yrs and 25 yrs respectively.

The ratio between the ages of P and Q after 5 yrs = 20 : 25 = 4 : 5

Therefore the required ratio is 4 : 5.

P / Q = 3/ 4 = P / 20 = 3/4 P = 3/ 4 × 20 = P = 15 years therefore Present age of P is 15 years Ratio of ages after 5 years = P +5 / Q +5 = 15+5 / 20+5 = 20 /25 = 4/ 5 = 4: 5 answer
