In his test, bacteria that retain the crystal violet dye do so because of a thick layer of peptidoglycan and are called Gram-positive bacteria. ... This is due to the difference in the structure of their bacterial cell wall. Gram-positive bacteria do not have an outer cell membrane found in Gram-negative bacteria.✔✔✔

☞ GRAM POSITIVE BACTERIA :-

1) cell wall is made up of peptidoglycan + teichoic acid.

2)Stain remain presistant.

3)cell wall single layer.

☞GRAM NEGATIVE BACTERIA :-

1)cell wall is made up of peptidoglycan .

2) statin remove because stain is soluble in water and insoluble in liquid .

3) An additional layer of glycolipid is present in the cell wall.
