formula (1) : ( n - 2 ) × 180 is used to find the total measure of a regular polygon .
_______________________________
example : let we take two regular polygons
(1) triangle, no. of sides (n )= 3
total measure = ( 3 - 2) × 180 = 180°
(2) Pentagon, number of sides (n) = 5
total measure = ( 5 - 2 ) × 180= 540°
now come to your second formula ,
_______________________________
formula 2 : ( 2n - 4 ) × 90 / n
_______________________________
now , you can simplify this formula little further by taking 2 common out there.
we can written it as
( n - 2 ) × 180 / n ( easy to learn)
example :
_______________________________
Find each interior angle of a regular triangle :
_______________________________
no. of sides in r.∆ = 3
each interior angle = ( n - 2 ) × 180 / n
= ( 3 - 2 ) × 180 / 3 = 180 / 3 = 60 °
_______________________________
similarly , you can find each interior angles of other regular polygons too.
