we have to find number of rows in the flower bed flat assume there are N rows in the flower

We know that An =a+(n-1)d

hence An= 5 , a= 23

& d=21-23=-2.

putting this value in the formula .

An=a+(n-1) d

5=23+(n-1) (-2)

5=23-2n+2

5=25-2n

2n=25-5

2n=20

n=20/2

n=10
