=> Well it depends on the purpose of course. If you are preparing for board examination (CBSE) then the primary books, the so called ‘Gita', are the NCERT textbooks. But what I find is that for physics, NCERT is a bit tricky to grasp at one go. So more student friendly books are often required. The best reference books are ‘Dinesh New Millennium Physics' and ‘Pradeep’s Fundamental Physics'. For conceptual learning and brainstorming problems H.C Verma is worth a go but not a necessity.

It is well known that NCERT books are the best and enough for CBSE Class 11 exam preparation.
