x=36° (vertically opposite angle)

36+z=180° (linear pair)

z=180-36

z=144°

y=z. (vertically opposite angle)

y=144°

From the given fig. , it is given that ∠BOC = 36°

also, we can say that ∠BOC = ∠AOD   ------------ (1)

                             &   ∠BOD = ∠AOC    ------------ (2)  

                     (as they are alternate angles)

so, we say x = 36° from (1)

also, we have y = z  ------------- (3)       [ from (2) ]

Now , we have AB , as straight line  having ∠AOC & ∠BOC

=> ∠AOC & ∠BOC are supplementary angles,

so, ∠AOC + ∠BOC = 180°

=> ∠AOC + 36° = 180°

=> ∠AOC  = 180° - 36° = 144°

ie., y = 144°

by (3) z = 144°
