Answer:
hey mate here is your answer
Explanation:
Chemical bonds involve electrons from the reacting atoms. Compounds formed from metals and non-metals consist of ions. Ions are charged particles that form when atoms (or clusters of atoms) lose or gain electrons: metal atoms lose electrons to form positively charged ions. Metals react with Non-metals to form salts.
» Metals are electron looser. In any chemical reaction, they release their valence electrons and form positively charged ions. On the other hand, Non metals gain electrons in their valence shells and form negative ions.
When metals and non metals react, there occurs a transfer of electrons. In this process, metals release the electrons and non metals gain the same. Hence, there are formed positive and negative ions. There occurs an electrostatic attraction of charged ions. As a result of this, the ions are formed by strong electrostatic force of attraction and the compound is formulated.
The Reaction in between metals and non metals can also be depicted on the basis of Lewi's structure. According to this, the atoms of different metals are in such a way that only their valence electrons are written on them either by small dots or cross bars. The formula so formed is known as the electron dot structure.
