Hello!
I have a question about "the bread of equality".
And I'm Japanese, if my sentence is unnatural I'm sorry

I'm looking up the birth of french bread.
according to a website, it is related to french revolution.

「Bread was the mainstay of the French diet and they were tired of watching the nobility eat copious amounts of fine white loaves while they faced shortages and had to make do with bread that was barely edible.」

what does this mean??
before french revolution, only rich people could eat white bread?( like nobility ) ?

then they couldn't make white bread due to shortage of wheat? so baguette was born?

I don't understand the relationship of this content and the bread of equality.

hey,

yes, the bread of equality is related to French revolution.

it was introduced by Robespierre during the reign of terror, where he wanted everyone to be treated equally.

due to many reasons such as war , famine, natural disaster etc, led to the the shortage of crops and to subsistence crisis.

Many poor people, could not afford to buy white bread and the gap between the rich and poor enlarged.

therefore Robespierre introduced the idea of the bread of equality so that everyone could afford this bread.

By the way, your sentences are unnatural at all.

can we be pen pals?? love to hear from you soon

Hope this helps

pls mark my answer as brainliest plzzzzzzz

thank you
