vesper theory :

VSEPR theory is based on the assumption that the molecule will take a shape such that electronic repulsion in the valence shell of that atom is minimized.

➡️VSEPR Theory is used to predict the shape of the molecules from the electron pairs that surround the central atoms of the molecule.

structure of Bcl3

it have 0 lone pair and 3 bond pairs

so it's structure is trigonal planar.

it is a non polar molecule.

structure of BeF2

it have 2 bond pairs

and 0 lone pair

so it's structure is linear according to vsper theory .
